School grades released; high school results still pending

Carr School and Blountstown Middle School each received an A while Blountstown Elementary School had a B after results were tallied for the annual School Accountability Reports. “They were an A last year,” said Assistant Superintendent Vicki Davis of the elementary school. OPEN HOUSE Open House at Tolar School will be on Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. A short assembly will be held at 6 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. Ms. Gayle and the music students are preparing a few songs for our entertainment. District staff will be on hand with information about the lunchroom, to deposit lunch money in your child’s account and to assist in completing free/reduced meal forms. Computer labs are expanded, upgraded

Students may be out for the summer but Liberty County School District Technology Supervisor Jason Fowler is staying busy as he installs more computers to the second of three labs at Liberty County High School. When the installation is complete, the district will have nine new labs installed within the last year as well as secure wireless networking in all three schools. “We’ve done some pretty substantial upgrades,” according to School Superintendent Sue Summers. Blountstown Adult School holds graduation ceremony May 27

The Calhoun County Adult School’s graduation was held on May 27 at the W.T. Neal Civic Center. Twenty individuals from Calhoun County have received a State of Florida High School Diploma, either by passing the GED or completing the State of Florida’s required courses and passed the FCAT.
