by Richard Williams, Journal sports writer The Liberty County Bulldogs defeated the Blountstown Tigers 24-8 in the Spring Jamboree game played May 17 in Bristol. The Bulldogs overcame an early interception and scored the first touchdown of the game when Daniel Deason took the snap and blasted into the end zone after his line opened a nice hole. The Tigers tied the game at eight in the second quarter when they scored their only touchdown of the night on a running play. Computer labs are expanded, upgraded

Students may be out for the summer but Liberty County School District Technology Supervisor Jason Fowler is staying busy as he installs more computers to the second of three labs at Liberty County High School. When the installation is complete, the district will have nine new labs installed within the last year as well as secure wireless networking in all three schools. “We’ve done some pretty substantial upgrades,” according to School Superintendent Sue Summers. Bulldogs win spring game 14-12

by Richard Williams, Journal sports  writer The Blountstown Tigers and the Liberty County Bulldogs ended their Spring football practice with a contest between the two cross-river rivals last Thursday. Each team scored two touchdowns, but the Bulldogs were the only squad to score on an extra point attempt so they took a 14-12 win at Bowles Field in Blountstown. In the Spring game, neither team was allowed to kick or punt so the  Bulldogs started the game withthe ball spotted on the 30-yard  line.
