Black History Parade

The Sisters in Pink, firefighters, pageant queens of all ages and many others throughout the community took part in Saturday’s annual Black History Month parade.  The procession led to Clay Mary Park, where a celebration of food and music topped off the day.

Families gathered to celebrate the season with the annual Altha Christmas Parade early Saturday afternoon. The street was filled with beauty queens, Girl Scouts, fire trucks and horses as groups took part in the annual holiday celebration.

Those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom were remembered at Monday’s Memorial Day Ceremony held in front of the Calhoun County Courthouse in Blountstown. Speakers included Previous District 2 Cdr. Carl Duncan and Cdr. Gary McGee.
