Trey (Center) celebrated his 18th birthday March 26. His brothers, Tristan (Left) and Terry (Right) will be celebrating their 16th birthdays Friday, April 20.They are the sons of Roy and Tamara Johnson of Lake Talquin. Their grandparents are Bill and the late Gail (Klotz) Evans of Hosford, James Loggins of Soperton, GA and Roy and Faye Johnson of Tallahassee. All three enjoy a day of fishing, going to the beach and playing a good game of football.

Ann Marie Brown of Hosford won the Apalachee Valley VFW Post 12010 Patriot Pen Essay contest in February. She wrote her essay on the theme ‘Are You Proud of Your Country?’ (see complete essay below). The 14-year-old is an eighth grade student at W.R. Tolar School in Bristol. She was awarded a check and certificate for winning the contest. Javakiel Brigham named MVP and wins medals at Football Combine March 31

Javakiel Brigham, a 10th grader at Blountstown High School, took home several top awards at the National Underclassmen Football Combine held March 31 in Tallahassee. After training from both NFL and college players, he competed against 50 athletes from across Florida and Georgia. Brigham was named MVP, won the bench press event, was dubbed fastest man and was crowned Combine King for being the most athletic individual at the competition. Sgt. Sidney Johnson leads a group of officers from Liberty Correctional Institution as they make their way along SR 20 in Bristol Monday morning during the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run. Those running with him include Kibbe Sandine, Lt. Hover, Sgt. Brown, Sgt. Peddie, Sgt. Clark, Sgt. Mercer, Sgt. Moore, Sgt. Crosby, Sgt.
