Series of break-ins reported in Calhoun and Liberty

by Teresa Eubanks, Journal Editor Thousands of dollars’ worth of property – including guns, jewelry, TVs and game consoles – have been stolen in recent burglaries in the Calhoun and Liberty County area. Three of the break-ins happened in Calhoun County. Three more were discovered Monday in Liberty County. Couple lose $3,620 in online loan scam

by Teresa Eubanks, Journal Editor A Bristol couple in their 20s got an expensive lesson in financing after being scammed by an online loan offer, losing $3,620 in the process. Faced with two car payments and other bills after her husband lost his job, the wife began looking for a quick way to get a loan last month. She agreed to share her story if her name was not used.
