An 18-year-old woman was charged with domestic battery following a disturbance Sunday near Aspalaga Road in Liberty County. Arrested was Raveen Lindsey of Brockton, MA. Bockton reported that her boyfriend hit her and said she was having trouble breathing. Deputies arrived at the Sykes Lane residence around 7 p.m. to find that she appeared unharmed while her boyfriend had marks on his legs where he had been kicked. ‘Meth lab’ discovered in pants leg of passenger during traffic stop

An 18-year-old Marianna man was arrested on methamphetamine charges after a 20 ounce bottle in which methamphetamine had been cooked and still held remnants of the drug was found in his right pants leg. The finished product – a chunky yellowish substance that tested positive as methamphetamine – was found in his left pants pocket, according to an arrest report from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. Richard Lee Smith Jr. was charged with possession of a meth and manufacture of meth. Smith was the passenger in a truck driven by David Gouge, which was pulled over around 1 a.m....

A Calhoun County man is in custody on several charges after he abandoned his truck and his passenger when a deputy attempted to pull him over for speeding earlier this month. James Waylon Porter, 33, was taken into custody March 20, 11 days after he fled from Sgt. Jared Nichols in Kinard. Two people are charged with bringing marijuana into the Liberty County Jail after a correctional officer saw a visitor hand something over to an inmate last month. Savannah Mobley, 22, of Tallahassee was visiting inmate Travis Ryan Jones, 21, on Feb. 24 when she gave him a small black bag, according to the arrest report. A correctional officer immediately ordered Jones to leave the room so he could be searched by a deputy. When he stood up, the officer spotted an orange cigarette lighter and a small black bag. A 46-year-old Bristol man was arrested following a traffic stop Saturday afternoon in Blountstown. Blountstown Police Officer Ethan Ellis was traveling east on Lockwood Avenue when he saw a vehicle going the wrong direction on a one-way street. Just before the vehicle came to a stop on Boyd Street, the officer saw the driver toss an open beer can out the window. When asked for his license, Marlon Willis told the officer it was suspended. Petty theft arrest made

A 50-year-old man caught on surveillance camera taking two bottles of beer from the cooler of the Southern Express on East Central Avenue in Blountstown last November was arrested March 12. Abdullah Aziz Muhammad, of Blountstown, was charged with petty theft. The video showed Muhammad entering the store around 4:52 p.m. Nov. 24, 2011 and walking toward the beer cooler, where he removed two bottles and stuffed them down his pants before leaving the store. He was released on $5,000 bond.

A Bristol man has been charged with battery for an altercation that began on Third Street in Bristol and almost resumed at the Exxon Station. The victim, Jeremy Baggett, 20, told investigators he had no idea why he was attacked Feb. 25 by two men he had just met that evening at a friend’s home. A Blountstown woman who admitted she was paid to forge papers showing she owned property being sold to a recycler was arrested March 15 on fraud charges, according to a report from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. Kendra Rives, 25, is facing four counts of giving false verification of ownership to a secondary metal recycler.
