Woman arrested after sending video threatening to ‘burn home to the ground’

by Teresa Eubanks, Journal Editor

A woman shown on a video threatening to burn a family’s home “to the ground” following a dispute over the care of a child was arrested last week.

Rachael Nicole Sims, 24, of Tallahassee was taken into custody Nov. 29 and charged with aggravated stalking and threatening death or injury following an investigation by the Blountstown Police Department.

The family - which includes Sims’ ex-husband -  reported they had been dealing with harassment from Sims “for some time” when they requested a trespass order be issued against her Oct. 20, a day after she sent a video via social media.

In the video, Sims clearly identified herself by her full name and after threatening to burn their home, she warned that the next time they crossed her “will be the last.”

The video was placed in evidence.  Sims was arrested by another agency on an outstanding warrant before being turned over to BPD.
