Woman killed in head-on collision in Liberty County

One woman is dead and seven people - including one adult and six children - were seriously injured in a head-on collision at 3:26 a.m. Saturday in Liberty County.

The fatality was identified as Mary Andraos-Gabriet, 47, of Palm Harbor.  One person was taken by emergency helicopter to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and the rest of those injured were transported by ambulance to the same facility.

The collision happened on SR 20 at Carl Bradwell Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a  2016 Mercury C300, driven by William Allen Green, 28, of St. Petersburg was traveling east when he pulled out to pass a tractor trailer and ran head-on into a westbound 2016 Kia Sedona, driven by John Gabriel, 47, of Palm Harbor.

Green was not injured.

FHP was assisted at the scene by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Hosford-Telogia Fire Department, Liberty County EMS, Leon County Fire Department and EMS.  Gadsden County Animal Control arrived onscene to take custody of a bulldog while a second dog, described as a grayish white poodle, disappeared into the woods.

The crash is being investigated by FHP Trooper Allen and FHP Cpl. Bedingfield.
