Clarksville man, Wewa driver both die in Gulf County crash

Two people are dead after a head-on collision early Saturday morning on SR 386, just north of Grassy Road in Gulf County.

The fatal crash happened at 3 a.m. on Sept. 9, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Zachery Lance Porter, 32, of Clarksville was driving a 2007 Ford Mustang north on SR 386 as the second vehicle, described as a 2014 Nissan Frontier driven by 26-year-old Travis Shelby Huffine of Wewahitchka, was traveling south on the same road.

The Mustang traveled into the south lane of SR 386 and collided with the front of the Nissan, according to FHP.

Porter was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver from Wewahitchka was transported to Bay Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash is being investigated by FHP Trooper Karen D. Shipman and homicide investigator Cpl. Dallas Jones.
