Montford requests over $6 million for new high school; $1 million for ER extension at CLH

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Senate and House of Representatives adjourned for the year Monday approving $83 billion in spending for the fiscal year to come.

According to Senator Bill Montford’s office, the following appropriations have been requested for our area:

LIBERTY COUNTY

Liberty County Jail……….$145,000

Courthouse………………..$120,000

High School …………….$6,060,000

CALHOUN COUNTY

Sheriff’s Office………..$145,000

Calhoun Liberty Hospital  Emergency Room Extension ..$1,000,000

Apalachicola Valley Archaeology ……………………………………. $47,633

Apalachicola River Clean-up and

Redevelopment………$2,000,000

All are subject to veto by Gov. Rick Scott.

Senator Bill Montford (D-Tallahassee) represents the Florida Senate’s third district, made up of  11 counties including Calhoun and Liberty.
