A Bristol man was transported to Bay Medical Center by Calhoun EMS with serious but not life-threatening injuries Sunday evening after a motorcycle crash.
David Dwayne Traxler, 51, was traveling north on SR 71 around 6:15 p.m. when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson after failing to negotiate the curve just before the intersection with SR 73, according to FHP Trooper David Cox.
The motorcycle crossed the center line before going onto the shoulder of the road. The bike then collided with the ditch and overturned, ejecting Traxler. Both the bike and rider slid about 50 feet, with the motorcycle stopping in the ditch while the rider came to rest on the shoulder of the road.
Another motorcyclist traveling with Traxler called for help.
Charges of driving while license suspended or revoked, expired tag and careless driving are pending.
