Rev. Joseph Edward Morris

ALTHA - Rev. Joseph Edward Morris, 81, of Altha, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at his home. He was born July 20, 1935 in Calhoun County to Michael Edward Wade Morris and Cleolar Marshall Morris. He worked for Neal Lumber Company, Rysco Shipyard, the Calhoun County School system for 21 years, and City of Blountstown for five years. He was a member at Abe Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Glennell Morris of Altha; two sons, Eugene Morris and his wife, Dana, of Sumatra and Michael Morris and his wife, Tabatha, of Altha; a daughter, Renee’ Jacobs and her husband, Robert of Bristol; six grandchildren, Zachary, Caleb, Joshua, Mica, Sara and Jezaniah (J.J.); four great-grandchildren, Cabela, Bailey, Elaina and Raylan.

Family will receive friends beginning at 12 p.m. CT prior to services at the church.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 28 at 2 p.m. CT at Abe Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Eugene Morris and Rev. Michael Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Red Oak Cemetery in Altha.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International.

Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown is in charge of the arrangements.
