Casper Albert Halada
ALTHA - Casper Albert Halada, Jr., 87, of Altha, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 in Panama City. Born in Rossford, OH, May 8, 1929, he was the son of the late Casper M. and Anna Chinoronski Halada. He married the love of his life Floester Hanna in 1952 and after he returned from his duties in the Korean War they moved to Toledo, OH and then to Rossford. Their children Jeanine Halada and David Halada were born in 1954 and 1956. He retired as an electrician with Libby Owens Ford, Floester retired from teaching, and they moved to Altha in 1978. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing, farming, and anything having to do with the outdoors. He kept busy with his farm and growing pine trees. He loved it when his children and grandchildren were there so he could share with them his love of the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 61 years, Floester Hanna Halada; his brother, Bill Halada; and three sisters, Midge Jasik, Jo Smith and Mary Balusik.
Survivors include two children, Jeanine Halada of Bainbridge, GA and David (Jeanne) Halada of Rossford, OH; three sisters, Ann Capehart, Bernadine Gehr and Rosemary Leslie, all of Toledo, OH; three grandchildren, Justin (Corinne) Halada of San Francisco, CA, Joshua (Erica) Halada of Toledo, OH and Alaina (Salvador) Martinez of Salem, MA; and two great-grandchildren, Avery Marie Halada and Kayla Faith Halada, both of San Francisco.
Family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 24 from 5-7 p.m. CT at the funeral home.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. CT at Adams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha.
