Cecilia Carlene Summers

BRISTOL - Cecilia Carlene Summers, 56, of Bristol, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, in Tallahassee. She was born on Aug. 8, 1960, in Port St. Joe to A. J. and Maxine Moore Taylor.

She grew up in Franklin County and had been living in the Orange Community for the last nine years. She was a secretary for the Liberty County School system before becoming a wonderful caregiver for her family. She had a huge love of fishing and hunting. She was of the Methodist faith and a member at Bristol United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, David H. Summers of the Orange Community; two daughters, Shaula Shiver Jerkins and her husband, Jason of Bristol and Paula Leah Shiver and her companion, Joey Van Alstine, all of the Orange Community; a brother, Jay Taylor and his wife, Ranza of Bristol; two sisters, Karen Taylor of Bristol and Lucretia Taylor of East Point; four grandchildren, Jordan, Gavin, Jaylene and Asher; five nephews, Elbert, Schai, Jarrod, Chase and Swade; and two nieces, Tasha and Whitney.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. ET at Bristol United Methodist Church in Bristol with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Sumatra Cemetery in Sumatra.

Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown is in charge of the arrangements.
