BRISTOL - Kenneth Green, 78, of Bristol, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016 at his home. He was born on Feb. 9, 1938 in Calhoun County to John H. Green and Agnes Kimbrel Green. He was a businessman who, along with his wife, owned and operated Kenneth P. Green Logging. He started the business in started in 1976.
He served in the United States Army, served as a Liberty County Commissioner for eight years, served as Liberty County School Board Representative for eight years, served on the Calhoun County Credit Union Board of Directors for several years, and served on the Liberty City Council for several terms. He was a member of Bristol Lions Club and the American Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his father, John H. Green; his first wife, Hannelore Green; and his sister, Mary Agnes Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen Green of Bristol; his mother, Agnes Kimbrel Green of Bristol; a son, Henry Green and his wife, Brenda of Bristol; a godson, Jim Davidson of Bristol; three stepdaughters, Debbie LaRosa of Tallahassee, Jeannie Violi and Anne Layton, both of Melbourne; two brothers, William Green of Kinard and John Harvey Green of Bristol; two grandchildren, Ashley Everett of Blountstown and Dillan Green of Bristol; five step-grandchildren, Jennifer, John Michael, Daniel, Lauren and Clair; and his special caregiver, Angie Tucker.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. ET at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Chumley officiating. Interment followed in Lake Mystic Cemetery.
