Ernest Edward Poley, Jr.

CLARKSVILLE - Ernest Edward Poley, Jr., 48, of Clarksville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016. He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.

He was born on July 24, 1968 at Ft. Rucker Alabama. Most of his life, he was raised and living in Clarksville. He was a 1986 graduate of Altha High School. He always enjoyed making people laugh and spending time with family and friends. He loved children and hearing them laugh and play. He was always up to something and into something. He enjoyed playing Ingress, reading Comics and keeping up with his many friends through Facebook and texting.  He worked for over 15 years for Mowry Elevator. He was a member of Carr-Clarksville VFD and always enjoyed being able to help others during fires or emergencies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Edward Poley, Sr. of Clarksville.

Survivors include his mother, Anna Laura Hellon Jackson Poley of Clarksville; two sisters, Star Spring Poley Pickron and her husband, Roy Ellis Pickron, Jr. and Dove Delores Poley Thompson and her husband, Cole Alan Thompson, all of Clarksville; three nephews, Marcus Alvin Grantham, Blake Hunter Pickron and Micah Bradley Thompson; two nieces, Sky Breeze Pickron and Rain Blossom Thompson; two special friends, Jeri Ann Stewart and Cindy Perdue and their families, who always looked at Ernie as a friend, father and even a grandfather.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. CT at Eastside Baptist Church in Marianna with Reverend Marvin Nichols and Reverend John Rollyson officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Clarksville.

Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown is in charge of the arrangements.
