Vehicle overturns & burns just off SR 71 on Saturday

westside-vfd-chief-doug-harrellTwo people escaped with minor injuries after a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander overturned and burned in Calhoun County Saturday afternoon.  The vehicle was en route to Port St. Joe around 2:15 p.m. CT  on SR 71, about two miles south of Blountstown, when the driver lost control.   The vehicle began rolling end-over-end until reaching a line of trees, where it came to a stop on its roof and caught fire, according to Chief Doug Harrell of the West Side Volunteer Fire Dept.  His department assisted Nettle Ridge VFD at the scene.    The vehicle is registered to Lisa Dillard of Maryland.  Harrell is shown above hosing down the scene.  Below, troopers look on as the vehicle is removed.           TROY BISHOP PHOTOS
