Notice of Rule Development and of Public Workshop

The School Board of Liberty County, Florida, gives notice of the development of policies, as shown below, and that it will hold a rule development workshop to which all persons are invited:

DATE and TIME: Monday, November 7, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

PLACE: Liberty County School Board—Board Room

PURPOSE: To explain the proposal and to respond to questions or comments regarding the policy being developed.

Subject Area to be Addressed:  Amendment/Replacement policy—Special Technology Update

Purpose and Effect:
The purpose of the rule development is to amend the policies so that they will be consistent with current legislation.  The effect is that the policies will be correct and up-to-date.

Authority:  FS 1001.32(1) or (2)

A draft copy of the policy being developed is not available at the time of this notice.
Any person who decides to appeal a decision with respect to a matter considered at the workshop is hereby advised that, for such purpose, such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the meeting is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

Beasley Pond Analysis Area

The Forest Service is releasing the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Draft Record of Decision (ROD) for the Beasley Pond Analysis Area. Proposed activities include: savanna restoration, borrow pit excavation, uneven age management cuts, thinnings of slash and longleaf pine, herbicide application, landline maintenance, and road reconstruction/ maintenance. The FEIS will also be made available by request to this office, on the federal register, or on the internet at  HYPERLINK “http://goo.gl/GZ3NXm” http://goo.gl/GZ3NXm. The proposed project is subject to the pre-decisional objection process pursuant to 36 CFR 218 Subparts A and B.

The opportunity to object to the draft decision ends 45 days following the date of publication of this legal notice. Objections will be accepted only from those who have previously submitted specific, timely written comments regarding the proposed project during scoping or other designated opportunities for public comment. Issues raised in objections must be based on previously submitted timely, specific written comments regarding the proposed project unless based on new information arising after designated comment opportunities §218.8(c).

Oral or hand-delivered objections must be received within normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays, closed on Federal holidays.
